i moved to a new home
the landlord has left his sky dish and sky box and cables
he does not want to throw or sell it away

i want to get the free sky+ box for new customers offer

since i already have the dish at home, will the installer cause any problem to my new offer?

will he just put a sky+ box without dish and go?
or should i remove the old sky dish n box?

    please advise

Why not shell out a few quid for the Freesat PVR box and be done with it - no monthly bills thereafter...

The installer will probably be delighted that the dish wiring etc is done, provided the dish is in perfect order :)

Just remove teh box that's there when installer comes. Even that isn't really necessary, but sure no harm in doing so.

Installer will have to run a second cable to where the existing box is, if you're replacing a standard box with a Sky+ box.

Dish may not be changed unless it's rotten, though LNB will be changed to a quad, if existing one is a single LNB.

when you say quad lnb, it can allow 4 cables isnt it?
in that case will be pull one extra cable for upstairs?
then i can use the spare sky box in the room
    what ya say?

Well Sky are doing a deal for new customers for half price multi room (€7.50) for the first 12 months. In which case, yes the installer would run a second cable.

If you don't want to go that route, you can ask the installer nicely and give him a few extra bob he should sort you out.
