nikon d40 - cant get picture preview up

    can someone please tell em how i can get the picture preview up on my dads d40 he cant use the old style method adn has switched it off

    If by preview you mean seeing the image on the screen before taking the shot, I'm afraid you can't do that on the D40 - you have to look through the viewfinder, take the pic, then you can see it on the screen afterwards.

    Quite a few dSLRs only have picture review not preview - the D40 has an option that displays the shot you took immediately after you have taken it.

    Don't worry OP - easy mistake to make - I remember using it for the first time and forgetting about lack of live-view after getting used to digital cameras.

    I got so used to my flm slr that I only use the EVF on my s5600 before I got the d40!!
