Unfortunately, huge thrashings like Treviso's at the weekend seem to be par for the course for the Italian teams in the HC. It really is a huge advantage for teams to have one of them in their pool.

It was suggested recently that they form one "super-team" from all the clubs in Italy and they'd play in the HC and potentially the Magners League. Its just questionable currently if they really gain from getting hammered week in week out in Europe.

The Italian clubs (and Italian rugby in general) are only going to get better by getting exposure to that level of rugby. It's good for the game in the long run. Painful in the short-term but good in the long-term

In the same way we're only going to get better by taking a hiding of the big 3 SH teams every year.
