Was out again this morning on the canal. Absolutely freezing. How does this one look? Might be a little dark I think.

very nice shot, i do find it a tiny bit dark, the fact that the swans are all that is sharp slightly irritates me for some reason, I don't know why, its a great shot just something isn't sitting right with me, maybe its the space on the left...

Maybe I'm just being moody cos I have a MANCOLD...

I see what you mean about the sharpness. It was very foggy so it's difficult to have detail further away sharp I think, or at least I couldn't manage it.

I tried to crop out the left long grass also but it doesn't look right either :( I'll have another look at a different crop.

Mancolds can be difficult. You really need a woman to tend to you for the day otherwise it is possible you could actually be hospitalised.

A bit dark but I like it. Maybe try a levels adjustment to brighten it up

It's not perfect but the atmosphere you have capyured more than makes up for it... and in fact it probably makes it a perfect pic.

    Well done *s

I'm gonna guess its downstream of the 12th lock on the 11th level near adamstown/grangecastle

It is a bit dark but I like it that way. It's very suiting for the time of year.

It's the Grand Canal at Digby Bridge just outside Clane on the road to Caragh in Kildare.

This is another lovely shot, but I think the main problem is that you've raised the bar so much with the last couple that this one just falls a little short. This is not a major criticism, just that the last two were so gorgeous that when you see a Ballyman thread for C&C, you now expect to be gobsmacked again!:)

I think I agree with the opinions above that the very thing that makes the shot (the fog) is also what robs the sharpness and leaves it feeling a bit flat.
