Hi folks, I do some mobile DJ'ing (nothing major, fashion shows, etc.) where I come along and plug laptop into PA system and using some DJ software play some tunes using mp3's. Anyway, I currently have a dell insiron 1520 which has been great but I'm fearful its going to let me down in middle of a gig sometime and want to get a new one to use exclusively for the mucis and use the inspiron for backup.

So I need something with good processor/ram and plenty of storage, but it should also be light and portable. Does anyone have any recommendations?? - oh and it should be cheapish too!!

Get yourself a laptop flight case, a HP Mini laptop and a 1TB External Drive or even a small 150 GB drive that is USB powered for your music. Everything goes into the case and when you arrive, open the case, plug in the laptop and hard drive and away you go. I wouldnt think screen size is a factor if its just playing music.

This failing get two ipods and get the ipod DJ deck that has the fader function. Then your music is stored on your laptop and 2 ipods, thats a fairly good backup!!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, I actually have an ASUS mini as a backup (in case my other laptop explodes), but hadn't thought of the flight case!
