Sourcing Freesat in ROI?

Hello all a friend of mine is moving into a new house now before Christmas and has got Sky HD installed in the living room and has ran dual satellite points to each room allowing for SKY+ or a Satellite PVR in the from eventually. He has a Sky dish with an Octo 8 Lnb attached and all the wiring is done to wall plates so it is only a case of running a fly lead from the wall plate to a Freesat box.

However can anyone recommend me to where I can buy (genuine) FREESAT Receiver's with the logo. I know SAT4FREE exist but I don't know enough about SAT4FREE and tbh they are only an imitation of the real FREESAT product.

I need two boxes and I know there are several makes and models but they must be FREESAT standard defintion without PVR just a receiver. I live in Kerry so won't be up North or in the UK for a while. Is there any retailers in the ROI that sell them here or anywhere in the UK which will post them to Ireland.

Anyone know the best make to go for also??

Am I correct in saying Bush Freesat Box = Grundig Freesat box as they're both the same company (Alba)?

I bought 2, from ebay at £99 each and they arrived safe and sound last week. (€280 in total, bargain :) )

They even came shipped in the original Humax brown cardboard box (freesat systems were in their original sealed box's as well)

Just to update the thread, I purchased a Grundig freesat box afterwards from Tony's company, www.satellite.ie. Ordered in the early hours of Sunday morning (after returning from the beer) and had it delivered to my doorstep in the Kingdom by DPD on Tuesday afternoon. Excellent service, I highly recommend.

I wonder is there any lists compiled where I can get the frequencies of the other FTA channels not on FREESAT besides the kingofsat and lyngsat lists. It would be great if some one would compile a list of the FTA channels not on the FREESAT EPG to make it easier to tune them in. I use Sky and bought this for a technologically challenged Uncle becuase of the ease of the EPG compared to the nightmare that is the Lidl box, I have an aunt who rings me for advice on how to change channel on her Lidl box.

I will get a FREESAT HD PVR when I get a nice big plasma during the summer.

Does the Grundig box not have a non-Freesat mode? The Humax box does and will auto tune the stations - you just have to switch between freesat and non-freesat mode

You go to "all channels" and select "FTA Channels" It took me a good while to figure it out and I'd rate the Freesat as being more unfriendly to other channels than a Skybox. However the majority of channels we would access via Sky's other channels are built into the Freesat EPG with 7 day planner unlike a standard FTA box's now and next feature. It is a bit of a roundabout way to access Sky News which is not part of the freesat platform yet. I give Freesat thumbs up as it filters out alot of the crap FTA channels that are ubiqutious on Sky.
