They should be yeah, this crowd only let in one goal the last day and drew the week before so it might be tougher than we expect.

Just having a look at the league table and the next two games before the xmas break are vital! If we were to lose or have our game called off tomorrow (weather not so cold today so fingers crossed) we could be ten points behind Ravenhill going into next weeks game against Glenwood. Who completely outclassed us last time out. Huge two games.

    Des can be ref :P

Although I must warn you, I don't have the best track record when it comes to judging new signings. I remember betting with someone that Arkins would score 15+ goals when he joined Bohs....

good stuff lads, never mind the performance, that'll come. As long as we keep grinding out results, even when playing poorly thats the main thing. Last season, when a bit off form, we were losing...looks like thats changed :)

Cheers Shay, 4 wins on the bounce now so looking good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,346 ✭✭✭✭homerjay2005

hmm, dont know what to make of this game to be honest. defo deserved the 3-0 win and they have improved but we are so much better than this in all fairness. a win is a win tho, but we need a massive improvement next week.

something missing, dont know what it is, but at least we are winning games now. i think we are defending well but maybe we are finding it hard to play in the new formation. we were outnumbered in midfield as a result.however, i thought martin was good and mark was also on his game also too and they controlled the middle despite being outnumbered. also mick, despite me thinking in the first 10 mins he was suffering from jetlag, got into the game and was very good. also nice to see dave play well and he was unlucky for a few goals.

anyway, lets look forward to the next game, our biggest of the season, simply cant afford a loss, a draw would be ok, a win super.

we are second now, 2 points clear and we cant be overtaken by anybody on the same amount of games for us. doing ok.

ps. the fixtures have changed....des/mick, can you unlock the thread please?

In fairness they played with no wingers and had 6 men in the middle at some stages. Total lack of tactics on their part. Add that to dodgy conditions and I think we got away with a 3-0 win. But, **** it, it's done with now and next week is the biggest game of the season. They outclassed us last time, vital it doesn't happen again

ya, we got 6 points and plus 7 goal difference, so cant complain. hopefully we will all raise our game next week and give our first top performance of the season. we need it :)

btw, pretty much exact same run as this time last year where we went unbeaten in the 6 weeks up to christmas. difference this year is we are only potentially one point off first and we are clear in second.

Hopefully some favourable results tomorrow as well. Few dropped points from teams around us would be nice!

hmm, potentially a draw betweeen glenwood and oak tree who are the closest to us as they play each other. full irish will prob win as will ravenhill. if that game is a draw, if we were to win next week, its probably between us and ravenhill with our games against full irish deciding alot.

Nothing is as cut and dry as that. I feel we'll go on a bad run at some stage, as will all the others. 4 or 5 teams could win this league.

    Dropped for negativity:D:D

Whats needed is if we do lose we need to bounce back in the next game, if we start thinking that losing one game is going to be the start of a bad run it will happen. PMA -> Positive Mental Attitude :D

I dont think we were in danger of losing last night, more in danger of having an unflattering scoreline. In saying that and as was said above there were times when we seemed to have no midfield but that was due to them having the bulk of their players camped in the centre circle. They were much improved from last time, conditions didn't make it any easier with every ball hit with any power zipping along the surface.

We got the 3 points without really putting on any pressure and even Ed getting on the score sheet . Nexts week game is vital as most people will be suffering with fitness after the xmas break a win next week will help the motivation.

errm, i have about 15 goals for boards ya cheeky bo**ix :) . this time last year, we won 5 and drew 1 in the 6 games before christmas and if we win next week, we will have exactly the same. we then lost our next 4 and only won 1 more game til season end. so, its defo somethin that we need to learn from, we have some tricky fixtures coming up....

maybe a get together for a 5 a side on the sunday evening before we play after the break would be an idea to rid ourselves of the fat...
