I was unaware that this type or firearm could obtain a license here. Is it selective fire or semi

It has "SIG SPORT 551" written on the side of it. As far as I know, the Sport is a semi-auto only version.

Nobody knows in this country but if you can show a good reason for it your ok, the guy selling this one also has a 9mm MP5 semi auto only, and a stright pull 7.62 FN comando or some people call wasp version all legal, all on paper and no prob with his super

I would edit your last post as I'm sure your friend wouldn't like you saying on public forums what he has. As for the mp5 he should never have been allowed to get that simple because
There is no good reason to have one of them and they are classed as a rifle. Under law the barrel needs to be 21 inc or longer.
Anyways far play to him mate.

The MP5 could be classified as a pistol, for which there is no legal definition. It could have the barrel extended to longer than 20", or whatever the minimum is. 10/22s have shorter barrels and there's loads of them in the country.

A good reason to own it would be target shooting.

NICE!! I had no idea anyone was licenced for anything like this here. Will it be effected by the new laws coming in here? As for the 9mm MP5. What a fun gun id say that is to shoot. I had a go of the .22 semiauto copy of it few weeks back. Alot of fun. Id love to get my hands on a 30-06 M1 Garand. If I had that SIG id not be parting with it!!!!
