Thinking of going to Montana next year for 2 weeks. Always loved the look of it, and the national parks look amazing.

Just wondering if anyone has been before and whats the best place to fly in and out of. Is 2 week too long a time to spend there, if so where else would you recommend.

I've been fairly vague with what I want but Im just starting the research.

    Thanks

have been, yeah 2 weeks in montana alone is waaay too long even with the wonderous sights of yellowstone and Grand Teton NP (which is actually a little further south in wyoming).

The nearest big city to yellowstone is actually in Canada, Calgary but its still a 400 mile trek. Salt Lake City is probably a good choice to fly into first though and explore the parks of southern utah (zion, arches, bryce, canyonland and capitol reef). Then head north to Jackson hole Wyoming which sits right outside Teton NP and a short enough drive to Montana

How long would you recommend staying there?

    4-5 days is enough tbh.

There is not alot in the state of Montana at all tbh. As said the only city of any use is in Canada. A few days in yellowstone is enough.

I disagree - 2/3 days for yellowstone to be sure, but the Grand Tetons are well worth a week at least. Of course we are into a neighbouring state at this point. Maybe set up a road trip - fly into salt lake and take in the Tetons, Yellowstone and Montana?

Salt lake is a big city but can be very quiet - the Latter day saints guys frown on such things as drink, loose women and nightclubs. Still if you like clean citys...
