Sky (HD) signal problem

Suddenly, there's nothing coming in Input 1 on my Sky HD box, according to signal test. Input 2 has a high signal strength, and when I swap the cables around the same thing happens, nothing on Input 1, Input 2 ok, so it's not the cables.
Is my box bust? Sky couldn't do anything on the phone and wanted to send out a technician for £60, so I said I'd wait and see...

Edit: We have Sky in two other rooms as well and they're both working fine

Tuner 1 on your SkyHD box may have died. I know Thomson HD boxes have a PSU problem, but I don't think a dead tuner is one of the symptoms.

Don't worry a bit about it. As long as you can watch one channel and record another your fine. The signal meter on Sky boxes are s**t. Mine at the moment are about 1/4 bar each and when they are on my technomate they are 84%.

The Thomson boxes are terrible in terms of reliability. We've gone through 3 in just over a year.

I replaced a PSU on one of the boxes and it's fine. I called SKY to replace the other two as PSUs weren't available. PSU kits are availalbe from www.satcure.co.uk. However, they sometimes have stock problems due to demand.

In my case, the boxes were not receiving a satellite signal even though the dish was fine.

The fact that yours is only receiving a signal on one input means it could be on the way out.

Sky now have Pace HD boxes, but they steadfastly refused to give me one and said they have to replace like with like.
