Goalkeeper/offside glitch

Noticed this last night, was trying to score with my keeper, so was running up the pitch with him. I was dispossed by an opposition midfielder, who played the ball about ten yards to his striker. He was flagged offside, even though my four defenders were between him and the goal. Anyone else notice this? I thought it was…

Is 4 an exatration?

Its a common misconception that there needs to be a defender between the last attacker and the goal for it not to be offside,

The actually rule is there needs to be two players between the last attacker and the goal.(the Goalie normally being one of them)

If there was only 1 defender it should have been offside
