Hi want to subscribe to setanta, rang them up need sky card so rang skt they said they cant send out cards unless i subscribe to 12 month contract.

so i bought second hand sky box from person A and a disabled sky card from person B.

Can the sky box from person A be paired with the card from person B
Do i have to ring sky to get it paired or can i use secret menu services 4,0,1?
Will i then be able to subscribe to setanta

Or if anyone has sky box with sky card in it for sale that be great

    Thanks

Managed to find someone that can pair the card to the box, just wondering will i be able to subscribe to setanta with a disabled sky card?

Is the disabled card a card with no subscription or does it have a "History"? If it's the unsub card you can subscribe to Setanta no problem. Make sure it's an Irish card or you won't get Setanta Ireland. Also the card doesn't need to be paired with the box for Setanta.

    Hope this helps.

Im buying it from guy on adverts, the card is disabled. when u say history do you mean outstanding money owed, no card is clean.
Was onto setanta they said it needs to be paired - not so?

"History" means switched off by sky for illegal use ie card sharing etc. Pairing is only required for premium channels for security. You can take your setanta sub card with you to your friends house and watch it there. If you do the same with you sky card you'll only get the normal channels not sports/movies.

Sky card is disabled because he came to end of 12 month contract didnt renew, will it matter when i subscribe to setanta that my address wont match the address of the card.

    Cheers.

Setanta has no access to that information. Only sky know where the card was originally sent. All you need is a card number and they'll send a signal to it to activate it. Setanta and Sky don't share any info.
