Just sold Fallout 3 to Xtravision last night and got 15 for it. I expected 30 to 35 for a game that new. Excuse I got was that they have a lot of secondhands at the moment and are not selling them. I checked the second hand price on the shelf and it was 45 quid.

I always used Xtravision for trade and purchases. They have just shot the market for me and I will be buying from videogameplus.ca from now on.

Eh, if it was that bad why didnt you just go someone else and try, im sure Game would give at least 25 for it.

I have a card voucher and I put credit on that. I have 45 already on it and intend to use it all up before it is out of date at the end of the year. I never buy secondhand in game as the prices are higher than Xtravisions...always.

Trade in prices everywhere have generally got worse. I think its a rip off payin that much for games then trading them in for practically nothing and I shop around.... people say its much better to buy online, but I dont have a credit card so I cant.

The second hand market is rubbish these day's. The shop's have started to realise they can make big margins on second hand games. I think I preferred it when game playing wasn't as popular you could get great deals but now they really exploit the market.

I was in game the other day and a kid was trading in Grid for PS3 a game I was looking for they gave him 15 quid. When I asked if they had any second had grids they wanted 45:99 I mean 30 quid profit is a scam. I just left and didn't bother getting it.

Given that you can buy it new in GAME for €35, €15 doesn't seem like a bad trade in value..

They must have reduced it since. My point was that they were making 30 euro mark-up look at any second hand game take the greatest hit games ( Uncharted etc ) New 29.99 second hand 19.99 now I know that they are cheap I'm just saying the mark-up is mad they probably give 7 quid for greatest hit games on trade in. Even the developers don't make that much when they sell the game new.

I'm all for trading but don't give a guy 15 quid for a game and then sell it for 45-50 ( only a couple of quid of the original price ) pure greed.

they're dirty rip off merchants when it comes to trade ins

eh they don't get 30 euro profit, you forgot to take off 21.5% VAT off of the 45 euro...

It was reduced to 37.99 in game so thats why u prob got feck all for it... I would have given ya 25 if you were selling it on adverts...

I got brothers in arms on release day friday finished it and went to trade it the next week i was offered 18 euro !!! i just kept it i would rather keep it and play it again in a year than trade it for that much.

Normally i get them on VG+ and put them on ebay and offer free delivery. Normally what happens is when you look at games on ebay they are 40 then delivery is 9.99 so i stick it on for 40 with free delivery ( which is normally 2.50-3.50 ) much better than trading. And normally sell with in a day at that price.

I was surprised when I got €15 for Timeshift a couple of days ago considering I bought it online 6 months ago for about €16. Fallout 3 should certainly be worth more than Timeshift.

I wasn't doing the trade in another guy was. I just asked how much a second hand Grid was. They had none and I thought they would have sold me the one they had just traded in but the price was mad.

In relation to the VAT your right I forgot to add it but you get the point that I was making the mark up is mad.

You can only blame yourself. If you dont like the price, sell it on adverts.ie or keep it.

I think the real question here is....

Why the hell would you trade in Fallout?, with well over 50hrs game play would you not like to play it again some day?!:D

Fallout bored me silly. Far too much walking around doing stupid tasks, talking to nobody in particular. Bought dead space instead and it is a brilliant game.

Not looking for sympathy from anyone. Stating a fact.

Came looking for a trade price as I'm playing Fallout right now and I'm bored senseless. Got around 30+hours so far so not all bad.

Xtravision don't seem too bad, as stated before you can buy the game new for a few buxx over €30... I traded Lego Indiana for the 360 a month ago and got €15 (I think), the guy at the counter told me by his own volition that the game's rrp had dropped the previous week - which was nice of him.
