Hi to all the very talented photographers here,

I regularly have a look through these threads and think the photos are all fanstastic.

Im a complete novice in photography but like this photo and would like to get it put onto a large canvas (maybe 50cm x 70cm).

I think that the quality may be too bad though. Is says 2304*1728 -is this the resolution.

Sorry I dont have a clue, but would love the advice if I can put it on a large canvas.

    Thanks

2304*1728 is the height and width in pixels. 2304X1728 = 3.98 megapixels.

When printing photos, the recommended resolution is 300dpi (dots per inch). So if you divide your height and width by 300 its should give you the max number of inches you can print ur image up to. - eg: 2304X1728 = 7.68" X 5.76"

However, with canvas you can get away with a lot more, because canvas is meant to look a bit less "perfect". So you can go for 200-260 dpi - eg: 10" X 8"

At least i think thi is right. Can anyone else confirm this.

    Hi

I've just set up a small Canvas Printing business. I've downloaded and played with your photo. I can print it at 12x16 inches. If you like I can print this for you and "frame" it on stretcher bars - I'll send it to you and if you like it pay me afterwards €40 + p&p.

Let me know if you want to go ahead -this offer applies to others as well who are unsure if their photos are of good enough quality.

    Okay.

I am temporarily closing this thread but before doing so am adding a reminder

    1) This forum is not a platform for advertising rates etc etc. While we're interested in available services, actual advertising needs to be handled by those who deal with advertising on boards.

    2) I have no objection to technical questions regarding print quality being discussed. Prices and offers to do stuff, different kettle of fish.
