Gas fire vs rads on

    Not really a consumer issue more a consumer question so mods feel free to move.

    Which is cheaper to run.

    A gas fire for an hour or turning on the central heating (for hour lets say)

    Those open gas fires are incredibly inefficient to run. There may well be the same amount of gas used in that or the boiler, per hour, but you'll get far more heat from running the boiler.

    Those fires might as well burn money.

    I don't use my gas open fire anymore. Turn on the rads! You wont be losing 70% of the heat up the chimney!
