If it is true, all though i doubt it's credibility, it will be good.
Would of like some future stuff, like 2030 or something. It's a good concept, just so far most games like that have been pants
I thought bf2142 was great, but most people like the "good ol times" and think it's ****e and hug to bf2.

But I'm happy with any new game really.
People have to stop judging games to previous ones.. ie cod4 to cod5.
    Too high expectations.

No one with any knowlede of the game developers expected World at War to be better than Modern Warfare. IW are in a different league, they are the only ones that can better one of their own games.

CoD4 is so close to perfection, I don't see how they can improve on it, besides addings guns, maps and updating graphics.

by removing the respawing enemies for one.

    a longer SP for two.

+ I want to be able to fully customize my guns.

Say G36c with Scope+ Grenade Launcher.
    M21+scope+silencer.
    Pistol+ Silencer+Laser Dot..

would be a lot cooler with 2 perks for your guns.
Especially in night mode with all those laser sights :d
Sure you know the enemy is coming but wth..it looks cool..just like the terminator films :)

maybe i will buy, as long as IW spends more time on the multiplayer then the campaign THIS time so it dosnt become Call of Fags: Modern Camping Part 2

Ha! This is good news but personally I'd rather something new. I'm not saying that I want something set in the future, but something different would be nice - now, that said, Modern Warfare covers a pretty damn wide spectrum, so what we get could be absolutely worlds apart from Call of Duty 4 despite the same name. Fingers crossed. More of the same wouldn't really appeal to me - I'm sure it'd still be a cracking game - but I wouldn't be as excited about it.

I suppose it makes commercial sense at the end of the day but I'd love to see Call of Duty tackle some other aspects of war, like Vietnam, Korea, even as far back as the American Civil War or War of Independence. Cauldrons budget shooters (Civil War and Civil War Secret Missions) really showed that those games hold a lot of promise in my opinion.

I've never even gotten past level 4 or 5 in COD4 - god it was so god awfully generic in the non-Eastern European sections that I just gave up out of boredom. All about MP for me.

Same here, you should try Cod5 campaign. It holds your attention enough to finish it and its always fun killing those banzai fúckers

That doesn't bother me TBH, I don't play SP

I think they made 1 perk for gun for balance, if you could put all the stuff on it, everybody would be running around with fully kitted out guns.

I think adding new weapons/customization and a ton of new maps would be the only way to really improve on COD4. It is quite possibly the best MP FPS I have played.

A longer single player would be great, some multiplayer based achievements would also be nice, and yeah, fiddling with guns would be great. Maybe tanks in multiplayer like WaW?

Tanks??? Why do people even like vehicles in FPS games anyway?!?!?

Vehicles are always a welcome addition to an FPS if they are done right (Halo: Combat Evolved) or can be very flaky if done badly (Chrome). I personally like having them included if only to break up the amount of time you spend running around. And with this trend of sandbox FPS games coming around, they are needed more than ever.

Can you imagine playing Far Cry 2 without vehicles??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 127 ✭✭Dixy

Vehicles done well in a mp fps can be good but only if the maps are massive bf style which doesnt make for good close S&D COD maps which changes the whole shape of the game play.
Could you imagine vehicles in crash or district style maps, cant and wont work imho.

    Motor perk in crash. :D

I agree and vehicles are terrible in CoD games anyway, CoD should stick strictly to infantry.

    Leave vehicles to Battlefield.

Completely agree, BF is the only FPS that I have played that has given veheicles the amount of depth that they deserve.

If there is one thing that IW should take from World at War is the bigger levels.
Except for the bizarre spawns in WaW i think the multi-maps are the best in the series.

WaW, has the best maps, in any CoD game so far! ROFL. No, if anything they should remain with making medium sized and small maps like in cod4(only due to console restrictions), just because the pc could support 50-60 players doesnt mean making maps for this many people is a good thing.

IW should make sure CoD:MW2 has the competitive staying power that doesnt exist in WaW and thats failing in CoD4, but this wont happen has all they care about is $$$ .

i agree with Steffano and CyberGhost here, tanks are the single worst thing about COD WAW imo. i really enjoy that game, but maps like Roundhouse and Seelow are ruined by big tanks in the middle, effectively making the only areas to make a "normal" kill are around the outside so you have sort of a "running track" effect.

CoD WaW does have that "its only here to fill the time between the next good COD game" feeling to it.

Couldn't agree more. COD2 had alot more staying power than COD4. I would have prefered to stick with COD4 like I did with COD2 when COD3 came out but I've just gotten a bit bored with it. COD5 is an adequate stop-gap game because of the newness and the similarity with COD4 but I think I may sway back to 4 before this new IW one comes out.

I did so yesterday as a matter of fact. Will definitely not be buying WaW now.
4 is so much more... I dunno.. it just feels better.
Seems to move smoother overall and is a little more responsive.

But having said that, I've noticed some flaws in COD4 easily now.

Equipping and Planting a Claymore to then re-arm your rifle takes forever. You have to stand still like a brick and plant it, entering the animation and then leaving it. Switching between guns and stuff could be a little more faster imo.

In WaW you can begin planting a betty and still run on a few steps but the weapon changing is still a bit slow and theres no real way to just cancel whatever you are doing and take out your gun.

Went back to COD4 last night and it's much more enjoyable.
COD5 I think I was playing it only a day or two and got very bored with it.
    Took me ages with COD4.
The only thing I like about COD5 is the maps. Some great maps for a sniper within the game. But the sounds are absolutely brutal on some maps.

Agree with you there Mathew! It only took me one hour of game time to realise that though! CoD:WW = piece of honk IMO...

    Agreed,

    The game is crap,

Guns are the most important thing about FPS games and in WaW the guns feel very weak and it's not fun to use any of them, I wanted to unlock the double barrel shotgun and I couldn't bare playing till level 29.

Also, gun models are crap, have you seen how MP44 looks? CoD2 MP44 looks way better.

Pistols are pretty useless, in CoD4 you can actually play a very nice game with a pistol and enjoy it, in WaW, they suck.

Just the general atmosphere is not there, if you know what I mean, the game feels off, Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 are MUCH better games.

Any game where can you run around shooting MG42 from the hip is not going to be taken seriously by me.

WWII and modern setting just don't go together, in CoD4 it's very real that terrorists can have the same weapons but in WWII, it's hard to believe.

Then I don't know what it is, but I feel like I'm plowing through some snow when I'm moving and when aiming.

I just don't like the game, glad I didn't buy it.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one CyberGhost... I wasn't expecting much of CoD:WW because Treyarch were developing it but God, they made a real balls of it... And that game had potential! At the end of the day if it had been CoD4 with a WW2 skin it would have cost less to produce and made millions happy as opposed to disappointed!

And you're right about the MP44... Looks ridiculous. Narrow as fook and when you shoot it it sounds completely gay!

An absolute disaster of a game... Will never buy anything from Treyarch again.

roll on COD4:MW2 !! hated COD3 and COD:world at war

most games ive played by treyarch are insufferable !!!

and i mean really do we need any more WW2 games anyway ???

Oh yea, the sounds, don't even get me started on that one.

You know it's amazing how with the same set of tools and the engine, one company create a masterpiece while the other can create garbage.

I am playing COD WAW atm on PC with a few of the clan mates and we found a good server and are really enjoying it so I suppose it just depends what you want . If the could dump the dogs and the the big guns shooting from the hip it would be better .
