    All,

Thinking of getting this from my parents for a B-day. Is it THAT good? I haven't seen much of it and what I have seen looks a little childish.

If a couple of people do reply then I will take the majority view on whether I should get it or not.

    Cheers

    I think it depends.

For me personally, I love it. A very good platforming game in its own right, the feature that will get most of your attention is the level creator. Its easy to use, very comprehensive and addictive.

While the main single player game will give you maybe 8-10 hours of gameplay, the multiplayer and level creator features make the time spent in this game much longer. The community aspect is also very important to the game. The best way to get the most out of the game is to share your levels and sample other peoples creations.

If you don't like the idea of creating your own stuff, there is still the main story and other user-created levels to use.

If you aren't online don't bother with it. The single player game isn't that great. However if you are online its great. There's some brilliant user made levels but even better is making your own levels and seeing if people love them.

I think that LBP is one of the best games ever made.

I was trying to convince my friends to buy it, so I stuck it on when they were over and showed them everything you could do. They all thought the story mode levels were really good, although they thought the controls were a bit off a times (which is true). However, they kinda had a look like 'is that it?'.

Then we played some levels online, where we came across a level called 'Metal Gear Sacklid'. That was when they fell in love with the game I think, when they saw how amazing some of the levels made by other people were. My friends have all now bought LBP.

I recommend playing multiplayer, either with friends or family, or by playing online with other people. That's what makes the game the most fun for me - doing loads of crazy stuff with other people. It's not as fun to play by yourself.

I haven't even touched the level creator yet, I want to finish the story mode first, but I did use it in the Beta. It was very user friendly I thought, the amount of stuff you can do - make enemies, traps, vehicles, puzzles and races - makes me think I'll still be playing LBP and making levels for years to come.

Have you any way to try it out first before you buy?

great. the reason i have some many un-finished games is because i only get to play them when the OH isnt around. its a pain tbh.

You shouldn't refer to her as an 'it'. Gets them riled up for some reason :pac:

Yea my GF wants a playstation now so she can play it at home...(not a chance as her liking the game means I can play it with her and not have to watch sh1tty Im a Nobody get me out of here)... You can get hours out of the single player cause theirs always more items to collect, im never happy unless I can get 90%+ collected on a level...

and the multiplayer is great, it gets really competetive with me and the GF, except I always hammer her... Important lesson, never let them win, because thats when they start to get ideas... you gotta squash them at every oppurtunity... thats the only way they'll learn and come to terms with being inferior(in games playing)...
