    Hi All,

Does anyone have bad experiences with agencies that try to "hunt" for jobs and resumes ?

They pretty much all do that aswell. The jobs might not be fake but just not live when they post them.

Saw a couple of funny posts this morning one titled "Software Whizz Kid wanted" and "Can you solve my IT problems..." The can you solve one then went on to say "if you can answer yes to this question.... ffs IT problems is a bloody broad question.

    It goes something like this:

    1. Agency posts fake jobs (and in some cases real jobs) to get CVs.
    2. Agency cold calls employers seeing if they need CVs.
    3. Profit.

No not all of them do that. Yes I hear about such practices (mostly here) but ourselves we don't do that. If nothing else, jobsite slots are pretty expensive and you don't waste them on fake jobs!

Was actually talking to someone in CPL about this, she asked me how the market was and I mentioned fake / non-live job postings and she was, or deserved an Academy Award for acting, visibly shocked.

She said that it is illegal for recruitment agencies to do that. Not sure how (false advertising comes to mind), but I don't know the law around it.
