Im waiting on delivery of a Sony Bravia hdtv and just doing my research like all good boardies iv noticed that
    Display Format is 720p
Input Video Format takes up to 1080i

This tv will be mainly used for PS3 but also have sky tv - not skyhd

What does this mean can i set my tv to recieve 1080i from my PS3 & what will this do to my pic quality on sky???

dont worry yourself. the TV will auto switch to 720p or 1080i for the PS3 (assuming you get a HDMI cable). you need to set the display to HD on the PS3 settings menu as well.

as for watching sky, because this will be through a regular scart lead it wont be displaying in HD.

as far as you need to know, Sky will be running on AV1 (for example) and the PS3 will be on AV 2. the same as your TV works now. but AV2 will be displaying on HD.

so in summary you dont need to worry about it, the PS3 will do all the work.

I recently put mine back to 720p rather than 1080i i think it makes a little difference not a whole lot

i only ever get 1080i for the XMB or the odd downloaded game. the majority of shop bought games are 720.
