Are you sure it's wireless network as well?

If it is, what is the make and model of the wireless router?

yea it is, i can pick up the network wirelessly, but its listed as the name of my school and wpa protected. im just wondering if the fact that im physically on the network now will allow me to show the wpa key!
thanks for the quick response! :)

edit: dont know the model or what ever, because the router is hidden and the net cables go into the wall!

Well in that case it's most likely password blocked as well, even with the physical connection.

You need to find out what your default gateway is and access it in your Internet Browser.

Go to Start > Run > Type "cmd" and press OK > Type "ipconfig" and press Enter > Your Default Gateway will be listed at the bottom.

tried that, leads to a dead connection. if its likely to be password protected i might need to convince an unsuspecting teacher to give me the key!:)
thanks for your help, only 5 minutes before i have to leave the computer room so today was a bit of a failure! thanks anyways!

Ask your IT department for access.
