    I think the first idea could be a winner. I played Headfort New a few months ago with two other lads and we all agreed that it was the best parkland course we had played. One of the other lads had played Mount Juliet previously so he had a good parkland course to measure it against. If your dad hasnt played there before then he will have a great time. I havnt played Baltray but its supposed to be class and a friend of mine is a member in Knightsbrook and he says its a good course. Just make sure your dad hasnt played all 3 first and i suppose it depends on where you live in the country too.

    If the GUI @ Carton is handy for him logistically then I think that's a great gift. Encourage him to practice and the facilities there are supposedly second to none.

    Yeah I' a member there. The offer on their website is web only - the towel part anyway!

    Super up there, although getting hard to bring myself out ona cold evening like this!

    Could you fill us in on the details of the facilities there - ie, I see you get 50% off ranger balls, 50& short-game area etc... so much does it generally work out as and what other little bits n bobs is there around the place that you find useful?
