Epic-Con : 14-15 Feb 09

Epic-Con is NUI Maynooths Omega Soc's Sci-Fi convention which will be running 14th-15th of February.

The con has expanded it's usual list of events now to include anime! Those of you who were able to attend EirtaKon may have seen some of their flyers around the place

And family friendly to boot, no loud pointless swearing or anything!
I'll get a list of events and stuff asap.

I'm on the committee of omega but not directly involved with organising epic-con.

I have now been drafted into the Epic con committee.

Couple of updates:
It'll now be on in the John Hume building in Maynooth, which is the much nicer modern one the college use to impress people.
Also we shall be running a few rpgs during the con, including a Shakespearean Firefly!.

Well I'll be going in cosplay! I'll be Rinoa from FFVIII (I cosplayed as her at Eirtakon too) and I know a good few cosplayers from Eirtakon are heading to Epic con in cosplay too!

Yeah,I did win.
Which was odd because my sword and sheild were done quite quickly.
I started them like 4 days before the con. :L

And oh dear.
Procrastination is horrible,ain't it?
I didn't have time to make a new cosplay for this con,what with exams. T-T"

Haha clearly you work well under pressure!

Yeah it really is! My pinwheel is made of cardboard and doesn't even have the best (half-finished) paint job but oh well! I still gotta make the straps to attach it to my arm! I love cosplaying Rinoa so much that rather than make a new cosplay, I tried to improve my old one. I hope there's loads of cosplayers like there was at Eirtakon!

Yes, the homemade cosplay is always the best one - its something sеntimental in the preparation and all the nerves into doing it And after that you are (not always) so proud of the result! xD

Btw is there a place here (Dublin) where you can buy cosplay costume?

I`ll be only Saturday in Maynooth I hope the event will be good - this will be the only one that I could catch while Im here. And I feel really lucky to catch this one ^_^

If I see you (I`ll only recognize the cosplayers:P ) can I drop to say hi?

there should be a sticky of Anime/Manga Cons :pac:

There is a sticky...the mods are really good for sticking any up coming events and putting a bit EVENT in front of it.
