Experimenting with my macro set up again (50mm f2 reverse mounted on 55-200mm at 200mm - 4:1 magnification)

(Sorry about the speckles - it's bloody hard to clean up the glass of the microscopic dirt!)

    And here's the original subject (18mm) :

The DOF is so thin - I'd guess it's around 1mm of sharpness. And my tripod isn't on a macro rail so focusing is a pain.

And of course the main problem is interesting subjects to photograph (when you're limited to 1:1 to 4:1's field of view - everything becomes just a bit too big).

edit: try 150 for the watch :P

What are the first two? The hands?

For some reason, I really, really like the last one! Even though its not macro lol :D Shame about the lines on the table being distracting.

Ghost: the first two are right in the centre, you can see the base of the main hands, and the second hand is moving. Atleast I think so anyway!

First two of the rotating second hand.

CM: lol - well it is a really nice watch ;) and environmentally friendly too (solar powered :P)

I think Ireland can manage 30 minutes of sunlight every month or so :p

Looking back, I should have gone with the wind up version ;) - getting plenty off sunlight here in Atlanta though (3 year drought here).

Sorry to sound so ignorant, but could you explain the "reverse mounted" thing? Some strange images coming into my head...

    Something like this:

Only I linked up two lenses (front to front) and then mounted the twin lens set up on my camera (so you get auto-exposure on the camera).
