So I've finally bitten the bullet of my lurking and window shopping and committed to buy this nice racer here (http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=82070). I've thusfar been using an alright enough raleigh mountain bike, which developed some back wheel troubles and broken bearings (?), so I've been basically dragging myself from Beaumont to UCD every day, between bouts of trying to fix the buckle. Now I'm hoping to get properly into cycling as sport and recreation, as well as making my journey much faster!

Anyway, I'm hoping to do most of my clothing and equipment kitting up in a lidl sale, but was toying with the notion of buying one of the boards.ie cycling jackets I saw on here. Could anyone point me in the right direction for this, and also, are they winter jackets? (last few trips across town have resulted in me becoming an icicle...)

Thanks a bunch, hope to be posting here more often!

Welcome. Unfortunately the boards jackets are all bought to order, in batches, and you missed the most recent order by about 6 weeks. There *may* be someone selling on a jacket that is not a good fit, so you might get lucky, but don't hold your breath. And yes they are winter training jackets, and very good quality too!

    Welcome to the board.

The jackets are very decent all right, I have been wearing mine now it is colder. They came from Fernando Carvalho Ciclismo. You can buy less than 10 but you have to pay a surcharge. So if you get 10 or more in one go, the cost is 43.35+VAT=52.02 ea. 5-9 is 62.42 ea. 1-5 will cost you 78.03 ea. You have to add postage to this which is not very much but obviously will be less if split between multiple people.

Might be an idea to start a new thread and see if you can get 4-9 other people together to buy a jacket.

Have an unused XXL still for sale.
If thats your size, then you can have it for a reasonable price.

You would need to be tall however for it to fit.

Cheers for the replies guys. I pm'd Bunnygreen, and if that doesn't work out I'll start an order thread... seems to be quite a bit of interest in it. And thanks Rok on, but I'm not that tall or XXL =). Look forward to showing off my internets-loving colours on the mean streets of Dublin!

If you don't get lucky with a boards jacket, the lidl/aldi stuff is actually well decent, only problem is get there early or there may only be illuminous orange left!

Oh, I have no doubts as to their quality. Sadly no specials of that kinda stuff in the near future though, that I can see, and I'm going for the boards jacket for looking cool, rather than quality or price concerns ^_^ (though from all accounts here it's good quality too.. so win win!)
