Reception from a Communal TV system?

About to move into a new apartment. TV signals, both terrestrial and satellite (from 28.2/28.5 E) supplied from dish and UHF aerial mounted on the end of the block. Guy came last night to connect it up. He took off the wallplate in the sitting room which had a single UHF socket and put on a new one which had both a UHF and an F connector socket on it.

3 coaxial cables were visible protruding from the wall. He used just one of them and connected the new wallplate to this cable. Terrestrial and satellite reception are fine from this socket. The other two cables he joined together with 2 F connectors and a junction before he put the wallplate back on.

There are sockets also available in the two bedrooms. However there is no reception from these. I took the wallplate off (had one UHF socket only). Two coaxial cables visible. One was connected. But no reception. Tried terrestrial only.

Question is, why no reception from the bedroom sockets? Should I get both terrestrial and satellite or terrestrial only reception from them? What needs to be done to get reception from these sockets?

    Thanks in advance.
