I don't know if this thread already exists but I'm just wondering what peoples favourite xmas ad is. Mine would either be:

The Kelloggs ad where the little girl wakes to find Santa
    or
The Coca Cola ad with the trucks (holidays are comin!)

Definitely the Coca Cola one. Basically the only Santa who ever looked halfway decent.

Those M&S christmas (even regular food) ads. I don't know how they make everything look so tasty, because normally its no better than tesco.

I don't want to be too predictable and mention the coke ad, so I'll be slightly less predictable and say the budweiser ad: I don't think its changed in decades...lucky horses must be minted by now...or glue.

The Guinness one is artfully beautiful but it has to be the Coke one. It's like being a kid again.

The coke one or the beer one with the horses, forget the brand. Or the vodafone one (sue me). Hating the meteor one with the ross o'carrol kelly reindeer though.

    Why so?

Lighten up, it's officially December. Tis the season.

All the usual ones - Coke, Budweiser, Guinness, Corn Flakes.
You know Christmas has truly arrived when those ads start. :)

I also love the one for the Post Office with the flying stamps, where they play "Walking In The Air". I don't know if it's still around.

Post Office and Corn Flakes, but I don't know, its pretty unorthodox

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 17,231 Mod ✭✭✭✭Das Kitty

#Penny's, got a whole lot of things for Chirstmas, got a lot for the famil-eeee#

There used to be a TV ad where a bunch of elves were stacking toys, it's a long time since Penny's advertised on TV.

I can't wait until Stephen's day when the DFS / Reid new year sale ads start. I loooovve them. :P

"I don't know, this is very unorthodox" ?

Just imagine that she was watching a lot of The Real Ghostbusters and she picked it up from Egon Spangler.

Doesn't matter anyway she's probably a smack addict at this stage, you know those showbiz types.

    Nostalgia...I love it!...and I love Christmas too.....

My favourite is the radio ad for Barry's tea (have not heard it yet this year tho...)... remember.. The ad is called Train. see link below (you can select and play it there)

    http://www.barrystea.ie/site/advertising_radio.html

The voice over is by Peter Caffrey (RIP) who played "Padraig" in Ballykissangel

    I feel all Christmassey now..................

I remember the first time I heard it I was driving home to my folks place - it just instantly 'felt' like Christmas...
