Hi,

I bought a creative zmp 8gb just under a year ago and have about 1100 items on it. The problem is when I turn it on now even after being fully charged, it'll start playing music or a podcast and halfway through it'll cut out and tell me it's re-building the library. I went back to the store where I bought it and they told me that they hadn't a clue and they'd have to send it away but it's possible in rectifying the problem the factory settings would be restored. In other words, I'd lose everything. Is it possible that it might just be a case of replacing the battery (I know that they don't last forever) or should I take a chance and send it back?

All help greatly appreciated.
