    Shaun of the Dead.

My Z Day preparations have revolved around the zombies being as they are in that movie

That's what my plan allow for as well. Should something like the rage zombies from 28 days later show up instead, I'll be the guy covered in barbecue running down the street screaming like a little girl.

I'll be planning for '28 days' but hoping for 'Shaun' style zombies. That way i have both covered!

The better prepared you are for all types of eventuality, the better your chances of survival...

I reckon zombies will be just like someone who's plastered drunk and in a bad mood.

Oh, so they'll mumble obscenities while they swing wildly and fall over when you smash a chair on their head. I can handle that kind of problem easily

In some ways, Z's may be even easier to deal with than that! Shamblers, anyway...

Rec. A Spanish zombie movie is a sort of halfway house between Shaun of the Dead and 28 Days Later.

    Well worth a watch btw

I thought that was about a Rabies breakout?

REC was about a virus that the Church officials in the Vatican saw as the biological cause of demonic possession. But the virus was passed on and also reanimated much in the same manner as classic Z films. It is a bit like a cross between the RAGE virus from the 28 Days/Weeks series and the classic Z virus, in that the victims do die and reanimate, but have a similar "rage" to the 28 series.

REC 2 comes out later this year, and for those who do not like subtitles it was remade, pretty much shot for shot, in English under the name Quarantine

The best thing about 28 Days Later was having the "zombies" run. Fast. When they shuffle along at a snail's pace they aren't so scary but when they sprint after you like a, well, a man possessed, well, that really scared the bejaysus out of me.

Especially the scene in 28 Days Later when they drive through the tunnel and the taxi breaks down and they're all running in to get them... ARRRRGH!

I haven't seen 28 Weeks Later - is that worth seeing?

28 DAYS... is generally a better film than 28 Weeks... but 28 Weeks is still a good watch, especially the helicopter scene (you will know it when you see it:D)

If you want a good film with actual zombies with speed, then watch the 2004 remanke of Dawn Of The Dead.

I'm pretty sure they where just actors.

    :D

When the country is full of sprinting Zs, I will make a point of finding you and chucking you out to them, and ask "Are you still sure they are actors?" :p
