2.95 for a bag of chips in Burdocks tonight. Rip off. Prices must surely fall soon. In these times of recession what other things are due for a big fall in price?

    Gold (in certain areas/conditions).

Seriously. More folk looking to pay off bills will be handing in some jewellery into pawnbrokers as things get worse.
Gold on such items then for sale, supposedly drops when the market reaches saturation point (in theory anyway).
-but I reserve the right to be wrong and stupid ...well ok, I'm stupid anyway but thats my excuse!

€2.60 across the road, but they give you more than a plate full.

    I'll but that for a dollar €2.60.

Aye but as your local pawnbroker (if you have any) gets awash in the cheaper stuff by people finding things tight, you will (probably) see the prices in there somewhat differ than from the likes of the big known brand names, more so than ever before.
I remember this happening vaguely the last time the country went through the more serious bad times.
