I'm thinking you won't find too many of those around second hand. There are a few in the country and the only one I know for sale is already spoken for.

Frankonia in Germany would be your best bet. They usually have a fair selection for sale. If you don't want to go to the trouble of importing yourself, pick out the one you want and ask your local dealer to get it for you (for a fee of course).

Having said that, the process is almost the same, so it's six of one and a half dozen of the other.

They have at least four in stock at the moment ranging in price from €299 to €599 and from used to good condition.

    Here's an example.

I'm looking for a target pistol, now that looks cool but can it be used for target shooting competitions?
checked out that frankonia site, with a licence could I purchase and bring in a pistol like that myself?
Frankonia doesn't seem to have english language version or am I mistaken.
Fired a smith and wesson .22 cant recal the model but wasn't all that keen on it, kinda jammed a bit.

    Well it's a Walther GSP :)

And yes, it's a target pistol. One of the oldest models out there having been made since 1972. Still being made as the GSP Expert, but essentially the same piece of kit.

They do have an English version, but it's not as up to date as the German one. Don't worry, Google translate will have a stab at it for you and after a while you learn what the words mean anyway.

Gebrauchtwaffen means 'used weapons' as an example.

You need to get a licence and an Article 7 from the Garda Superintendent. Once you have those, you can then import after you've notified the DoJ.

It's quite easy, do a search on this forum for import or import from europe and you'll find a useful guide.

Just pickup a Benelli MP95E Target Pistol. Very accurate .22lr target pistols. Millard Bros are the main agents but they are trade only. Got mine from Fingal Sports. http://www.fingalsports.com
