Anyone know where I can try one of these out in Dublin?

I don't think you're going to find one new in any of the shops, plus there's a two year waiting list with Ric at the moment and the shops here will only get one in if you pay for it first so you'll grow old before they get one in to try. Your best bet might be keeping an eye out for a second hand one to try out.

Played a 620 in xmusic on the weekend, beautiful guitar, had to change me boxers ofter playin it...

I was looking on soundslive and they are up there for just over a grand so its hard to say no to.. Just trying to decide between the hollow and the solid...

There was a chap selling a 12 string 620 on adverts, dunno if it has sold yet but for a couple of weeks all he had were the usual timewasters making a niusence of themselves.

Yeah I saw that, 12 stings are fun but not so practical for myself...

Have a search for Judas101, he was looking to offload a 6 string one not too long ago, I think he had an ad up too.

I'm not sure if they actually have any in stock though. You can buy it from them, but you'll more than likely have to wait the two years or so before you get it!

I can honestly say thats the weirdest thing I've ever heard... You can work your way through the entire purchase of something to be told you have to wait 2 years? Ya's think something like that would be illegal without some sort of sign lol...

Thanks for the tip about Judas101! I'll have a look

Thats how Rickenbacker work and they seem to think it's acceptable to do this.

X Music have a 620 in stock, they also had a 370 until I bought it !

Edit: saw your post above. The only difference between the hollow bodies and solids is slightly more sustain from the solids. GAK have very good prices on 360's at the moment.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear, prices on GAK are amazing... More inclined to go for the 620 at the moment if that's the case but I still need to get my hands on a 360 to be sure... Hopefully I'll find one in the states to play.

When you pay for it, you're effectively getting the shop to order it for you. It comes with the territory of buying a Rickenbacker in recent times.

It's essentially like ordering a custom guitar from a shop. You pay them, they place the order and then wait.... and wait... and wait... and wait... and then when you're 65 you'll get a nice new Rickenbacker made in china! :p

I don't think the price quoted to you in X music is correct. They quoted me €1599. Search Ric 360 on Ebay UK. There's one there for about 1200, 27 stg delivery.

Candy apple guitars have a couple of 620's too, check them out on the bay.

Haha, just talked to GAK, they have the orders going on constant rotation. Once they sell out they get new stock almost straight away :D

x-mas pressy to myself is a Rickenbacker 360 and an amp, thinking Blues Junior at the moment. All I need to do is sell 2 guitars and an amp ^^ YAY!

That may be true but coming up to xmas I know a few parents looking to get their kids started, a few low end guitars should do the trick... Gotta love the holidays...

I just have to wait till the 19th now... I'm gonna cry...

What colour are you going for ? I really like my fireglo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭Zangetsu

I love the fireglo finish, its probably at the top of my list but I really love the Jetglo finish... Only problem is I'd never hear the end of it (was an obsessive (understatement) Beatles fan up until a few months ago...)

Cool. Good luck with it. It's always nice to see folks getting excited over a new guitar :)

I thought that thing would have sold a lot quicker...

OP those x-music prices seem a bit high.Order off soundslive. They are terrific to deal with.

Finding a Rick in America is not as easy as you think.Guitar Center don't sell them which doesn't help.I bought a Jetglo 360 in Vegas back in May.I had been saving for months before i left to get that guitar.I just presumed they would be easy to find.Luckily they had just gotten 2 of them in a few days before i got there.

I think there is a 330 for sale on Gumtree...

Yeah, it's nuts, there have been some wonderful guitars not shifting at very decent prices recently.
