Can I claim the Dole with no P45?

    Iv never had a proper job and i cant seem to get one have had a good few interviews but none were successful so am I still entitled to claim the dole??

    You need a certain amount of PRSI contributions to claim the dole, so no you cant. Try a FAS course.

    From my limited knowledge, you can't. They need your p45 as a verification to ensure that you are unemployed. Also the details on the p45 contain your prsi contributions for this year to date, which they also need. :rolleyes:

    i quit my job to go travelling about nine weeks ago and requested my p45 but when I came back my employer had not sent it out to me,if i get it now will i be able to claim the dole straight away or will i have to wait another 9 weeks?

    The 9 week disaallowance applies from the day you first became unemployed, not from the day you make the claim.

    ok.so does that mean that i can claim for the dole now?my employer still has not sent out my p45 so will i need to get that before I can claim aswel?

    Yes you can claim now but you will nedd a p45 before you get paid so, put pressure on your old boss.

    Sign on Monday. The exchange will chase up your boss as well.

    Always make you claim, everything else can be sorted out later but its likely you'll only be paid from the date you signed.
