Icebreaker? Cheap? No, but very comfy though.

If you just want a fleece to wear under your shell jacket (i.e. not windproof) the you can pick one up anywhere - Millets on Mary St. would probably be cheapest. Also the Patagonia shop on Wicklow St. has some really nice ones on sale from time to time.

Keep an eye out in Lidl and Aldi, they usually have ski specials this time of year. I got a micro-fleece there last year and it's still going strong, grand for under a jacket.

It really depends on your budget.I would defo recommend Gore Tex winstopper products.I wore my Calvin Green windstopper (not strictly cycling but hey I get them for free, dont ask!!) short sleeve gilet on Friday and did not feel the cold and yesterday and to-day wore my long sleeve one.Only part of me that was cold was my nose and toes.

Have a look at these http://www.groundeffect.co.nz/product-detail-MOS-MER.htm. I'm currently using one over a base layer & underneath a gilet & it keeps my chest warm at least. The back of the garment is breathable so i haven't got sweaty, though that could be down to it being so cold lately.
