Warwick Vs Sandberg

Hi There. I recently bought a Warwick Corvette $$ 5 string. I've been playing about 15 yrs and always wanted a corvette. Now, don't get me wrong, it sounds great and its looks the business, but i just couldnt get to grips (literally) with the neck. Its got a big old "C" profile. Its some plank of wood! After a few months gigging my poor hands were getting sore so i knew i had to change. I read some reviews on Sandberg basses which all seemed to be positive, so earlier this year i picked up a Sandberg California JM 5 string. It's absolutely gorgeous, build quality is sturdy, sounds terrific and feels great. Has anybody else got one of these? If so, what do you think of them?
    cheers

Haven't played one but I've heard lots of good things about them. The Warwick neck is something you either love or hate. I've got a 4 string Streamer and the neck is like an old Precision, which I don't mind, but I played a few of their 5s and really hated the feel of the neck.

If you were feeling adventurous you could sand the neck into a profile you like, it's only an oiled finish :P *

    *don't do this :D

Oh yeah, I don't see either of those basses in your post, therefore they must not exist ;)

Check out Clover basses. They're awesome looking and I've heard great things about them. They're made in Munich. :)

Had the exact same bass as you and had the exact same problem. Ended up getting a musicman instead. If the sandeburg is what you like go for it!!

Jesus that Sandberg looks nice. Good thing I'm in control of my GAS! (and don't have enough money to buy everything that catches my eye)

I did play a Warwick 4-string before and really didn't like the feel of it. Never played one of their 5-strings though.

What was really nice about it was that the factory setup was spot on. It had their own brand strings in a light guage fitted. i wouldnt normally go near light guage strings, but in this case they felt perfect. only bummer was i had to wait 13 weeks for the blackburst finish. worth the wait though
