    Hi,
My sister is looking to buy this camera for someone. The price she got is ~€250.

We are both ignorant about this kind of thing...

Is the camera any use? :) It will probably be used for taking pictures of drunken people passed out and the likes, as opposed to artistic compositions... So one would assume it would be grand for that!

Would it even be unnecessary? If ye can recommend a cheaper camera that would do the job just as well then post away!

    Cheers

    Dave

where did you get the price 250?

pixmania / pixels are selling it for 350-400

i think this canons current top of the range compact (leaving out the G series)

seems a bit excessive for a 'party camera'.

what if she drops it in her pint?

there's plenty of others in the range 100-200 but if you can get it for that price it maybe worth getting.

    She's getting it here
    http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod5514.htm

It's for someone in Australia, so delivery should be fine

    Thanks for that

At the risk of getting boring :), there's a pretty good review of compacts over on dpreview.com which should be well up to the job for a good bit less than that!
