What strategy in the ring do you guys think each fighter will employ?
    Yes it's a circus .

Manny cannot fight his usual fight if he does expect the left hook - followed by manny taking a nap.

+1 if Oscar uses his jab right then he can throw Manny off and if he gets too careless he'll eat a few left hooks. What Im concerned about is Steve Forbes connected fairly handily on Oscar at parts of the last fight. If Manny can fight a versatile fight then he can take it on points.

    GO PACMAN!!!:pac:

Slightly erroneous, if Oscars connects with one left hook its over. I think Oscar will let manny into the fight early on, regret it and win a close enough dec.

What weight do you think Manny will get up to by the time he steps into the ring?

his frame is just not big enough - the real question is what will Oscar weight on the night.

I haven't seen any picture but Oscar looked awfully drained against Forbes.

Despite what people say I think this is a fascinating fight.

For the sake of boxing, lets hope Oscar KO's him early and easily.

It's a big man against a little man. A mismatch and as far from a mega fight as one could get. It's part of the reason why boxing is really suffering. A faded and jaded Oscar against a blown up bantam/feather.

Serioulsy, can you imagine Sal Sanchez or Wilfredo Gomez challenging Ray Leonard or Tommy Hearns in the 80's. They'd be laughed at and it WOULD never happen.

I wouldn't be surpirsied one bit if they both were staging this fight and choreographing its path!

A bit like the other mega flop, Oscar-Floyd!

I agree. I think Oscar may well take in easy in the first few rounds just so the mis-match is not so obvious.

Can't see anything other than a Oscar KO. The difference in size is just too much.

I'm getting quite sick of all the 'Golden Boy Promotions' lark.
Sure his fight is practically already arranged against Hatton next summer.

BTW, should Oscar lose; to me it says nothing, other than he is USELESS and well past peak. Somthing I have know for several years now. At peak, he was ultra special.

Get outta here, Oscar is my favorite fighter but if he loses it will be an amazing achievement for Manny.

Oscar is past his best but not totally shot - yet!

Floyd got the props for beating Dela and so should Manny if he can pull it off.

Not Totally shot? No, he isn't DEAD, I know that; but as far as a top
world fighter, he is well well washed up and only that boxing is so so desperate, Oscar
would be retired now. He's beyond a joke and this is from me, who rates
him so so so high in the all stakes.

TKO, am I right in thinking that you are easily pleased?

Because if you can truly say that this fight is a worthy fight, then I am simply mystified.

    As for Floyd getting 'props'

Maybe in Ireland and Britain he did; but the US didn't rate the win at all.
I didn't either and don't even think he won. It was a sham, the whole affair!

Dude you love making assertions. As I said before Oscar is my favorite fighter.
Not once did I give him credit for taking this fight in fact the opposite would be true, The golden boy is in a lose lose situation.

Oscar would still give any of the current welters a fight, Im not saying he would win but he is not that over the hill.
As for America who cares what they think. The American view on boxing is so off the charts it’s beyond ridiculous.

How ever I did say that this fight would be interesting due to the fact that Oscar looked like he just left a world war 2 camp in the Forbes fight due to cutting so much weight and that was 150 if I remember correctly
And Manny is an outstanding fighter who could hurt the golden boy if given the opportunity

BTW I don’t think Floyd won either

what about the stories that Oscar is struggling really badly with the weight for this fight?
Can Manny Ko him?will his power come up with him?

Just wondering about this as i know there are others far more knowledgeable about this than myself.

Word on the street is that Oscar is in better shape than the Forbes fight but IMO this weight is all wrong for Dela at this point in his career.
I think this will make the fight competitive but I would be shocked if Manny KOed him - Oscar has a proven chin and has taken bigger shots from bigger guys.

Valero hired as a sparring partner , then chucked out after going too rough on little Oscar.
