Chaffed thighs

Has anyone else ever got this from running. I used to get it a lot but havent for a while now. Last Monday i went running after a bit of a hectic weekend and i ended up crapping myself (no really it happened) and now my thighs are still in bits. I had to jog back home (after crapping myself) and now my inner thighs are still sore and blue to look at. I was wondering has this happened to anybody on here and if so what did they do to remedy it

You need lube. Vaseline should do or else one of those Bodyglide sports lubricants and the like.

The type of running shorts you use can also be an issue. I find Asics shorts to be much worse than Nike and Ronhill for this problem.

Too much info there bud! :D I'd agree with what Stark says on chaffing varying depending on your shorts. I never get it with Adidas shorts I have, but regularly with some Nike football shorts I wear.

Outch and ick...... had a bad case of chaffing before myselfr legs were wrecked . There are a few creams you can get to help after but best is not to get it. Sort your shorts out. Also watch out as there is a nasty fungal little infection you can get too from it. think the yanks call it jock itch

I had this problem when I started running last year (the chaffing, that is).

Underarmour shorts - or, more recently, the Aldi base-layer gear - fixed the chaffed thighs. The judicious application of some bodyglide fixed the problem of a more (ahem) intimate type of chaffing.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Liam

Agree with the under armour shorts. I have big hamstrings from rugby days and couldn't go more than an hour running without my thighs bleeding. Lycra shorts down to mid thigh or lots of vaseline with normal running shorts. Anything cotton is terrible

anyone else get the 'tag' chaffing?

I find sudocreme is very good treatment for it. You'll smell like a baby's bum for a while, but it works well.
