Ok, so how do you affix the dummy rounds belt to the A&K m249 mkI ?

Glue? Welding? Bolts? Lasers (pew pew!)?

they just sit in ronan., theres a little groove for them to sit in on the top cover and that holds them there.,

In the top cover? I see no groove!!! You speak lies with your tongue of lies!!!

There is a kind of dip thing with what look like two screw holes, is that it?

There's a little clip you can stick them on but they'll fall off fairly easily tbh, I use a couple of small cable ties hidden away to secure them

    Cable ties. ...

... why didnt I think of that?

    oh yeah.

Raise the breach cover, the feed channel is on a seperate hinge. Pull the feed channel down and lay three rounds across the center of the breach, then close the breach cover again and lock it home.
The other end just sits in front of the spring-tubes on the box mag, no connection point beyond friction there really.

I'll try the cable ties later.

there is a clip on the box mag that hooks into the end of the dummy rounds

That's not on all box mags, I've noticed. It doesn't even seem to depend on the brand.
