Golf Vouchers

Has anyone had any experience using McGuirks vouchers after their "use by date" has expired? On their vouchers, it says that they must be used within six months of date of purchase(or words to that effect). It's a disgrace imo that they do that. I have a €50 voucher at home that should have used before the end of september. I completely forgot I had it and now I'm hoping to use it towards a new pair of golf shoes. Does anyone know if McGuirks will accept it?

Most places will honour a voucher that is a month out of date.

TBH, shops have to have a cut off date for the vouchers - once the expiry date has passed, the shop can transfer the voucher into their sales. Expecting a shop to extend vouchers for everyone, or indefintiely means they cannot predict their sales etc.

    It's not a "disgrace" - it's like Ryanair - "You're not getting a refund, now f*** off"" - Michael O'Leary.

You got the voucher, it stated the expiry date and you didn't use it.

Try ringing them - although if it's Blanchardstown, don't ring today as the Manager works Tuesday-Saturday and you won't get very far.

I think its a bit of a disgrace too. I mean, the money you hand over for them vouchers doesnt have an expiry date so i dont see why the vouchers should. I can see the previous posters point but Mcguirks would hardly be in financial ruin if someone turned up 2 months late with a 40 euro voucher. Central Bank are still changing punts into euros and they had an expiry date of 2001 (i think).:D

You're right - money has no expiry date - but for retailers they allow vouchers to be treated like cash for a period of time - then call a day on it.

I agree that most places wil extend vouchers by a month or two, but would it be acceptable to walk in with a 5 year old voucher - where does one draw the line??

I had McGuirks gift vouchers which I lost and then found they were a year out of date and they honoured them
