I'm sure part of this we can attribute to our VAT increase (good thinking lads) but I also think UPC are using it to capitalise.

Could anyone tell me if Dave is on Digital Select? I know it used not to be then it was for a while but I'm not sure if this was temporary or permanent.

Note to UPC: I will be down grading my TV and probably my broadband because of the increases. The odds of me getting your phone service are pretty unlikely as 5.9c set up charge is a rip off.

Well bad move from NTL. Its cheapest package(24.5€) will be more expensive than Sky's one(21€). In fact, for 25€, you can get 3 packages with Sky... I know one shouldn't compare.
Not to mention, the 5€ extra for the DVR...

    I just spotted http://www.upc.ie/pdf/pricechangejan09.pdf

Because of their €10 downgrade fee, I may have to do two at once.

Am looking forward to the price increase, it allow me to cancel them... :)

The "Basic TV pack" is the analogue service, as another poster mentioned, the cheapest digital pack is €20 a month currently and not listed among the price increases.

What a rip off - so my digital max (1.50 p.m.increase) and broadband (2p.m. increase) means my UPC bill increases by € 42 a year !!

€42 a year AND fewer TV channels than last year.

Rip off Ireland is alive and well - so is competition - freesat and sky has become a far more viable option

As for downgrade charge - keep a record of the substandard service they provide would be my advice

Cheeky b&*^&ds, they can't even provide a quality service at the best of times!

Yup, I was told by a member of UPC staff yesterday that the €20 digital package would not be going up.

Clever move, I imagine loads will want to cancel when they knock the dodgy boxes out, and most would be on the basic package.

The increase in UPC Fees - its >8% AND this is in a time that Sterling is down 33% and most of the UPC Carriage deals are with UK Companies

Sky with the full 6 packages is €31 , UPC is €33.50 with less channels !

With Sky Sports its €58 - My UPC with Sports is going to cost 63.50 per month - thats €66 a year extra - why is Sky Sports dearer on UPC with no red button - am I missing something are am I been ripped off ?

Time to move from NTL, this increase invalidates the downgrade fee also..happy days.

I have decided to move from the TV service but keep the BB.

I have rang SKY 3 times now and left my name and no. but no one gets back to me. Seems all these companies are the same to me.

Looks like you might be snookered there Ciaran:

According to NTL's price increase chart..
"An additional monthly charge of €6 applies to broadband standalone."
