Car cutting out with small acceleration

So I have a 68 mustang with fuel injection, which took a while to put in and set up correctly but its running alright now except for: when its not completly warmed up if I put my foot a very small amount on the accelerator it does it best to cut out (no power), and sometimes does. If I rev the engine and it goes past that point it will drive off fine.

Once its warm (arm can take about 10mins+) it seems to run better. I'm at a bit of a loss, although I haven't diagnosed the problem properly because of the cold evenings and the dark.

I'm all ears for input :)

I just talked to a friend of mine and his thoughts is that my timing is out. When I give it a bit of throttle, the vacuum advance advances the timing too far and it dies. When its warm it can deal with the bad timing better (hot cylinders).

    Sounds like timing alright.

When you give it throttle you are giving it a richer mixture, therefore it needs MORE time to burn, thats why there is vacuum advance.

You might find that the advance is NOT working at all, or not properly.

Also how does the system switch from the idle circuit to throttle.

I'll have a look when I do the timing, I should be able to see the vacuum advance moving when I rev.

There is an accelerator sensor (throttle position sensor, TPS), and I can key in the amount of extra fuel added by the EFI during acceleration.
