Yeh i have, i really like it!! Annoys me though that they dont tell you what song/artist is playing. So if you a like a song you cant go find it. Although maybe its not like that all the time!

Have been listening to it for a while and it's quite good. They've started playing different shows recently that focus on different themes etc which are very good too.

They used to always show the artist and song title but I've found it to be fairly sporadic recently.

Yep I think it's a really good mix, ya kind of have more mainstream indie/ punkish stuff during the playlists and then the shows are quite specialist. The fact that there's no adverts is a bonus! Looks like they're gonna be adding more to the schedule too. Happy days!

I'm a big fan of BBC 6 Music - it's not too 'Over Cool' but is interesting enough to be a regular listen.

One great resource Auntie Beeb has is it's Library - sessions dating back to the beginning of recorded music.

I'd love to see 2xm exploit RTE's Library, I'm sure there's lots of material of interest.

I'm a late-breaking "discoverer" of 2XM, mainly because it happens to be "top of the dial" on my UPC box, and hence a handy place to have my "live TV" channel turned to. (If you have that set to any of the actual TV channels you might be recording from, it's liable to go horribly, horribly wrong. For a while I used the "Customer Channel" for that, but there's only so many times you can hear the trailers for "Rio 2" before going slightly demented.)

But... there's no live tracklisting on the "metadata" of the UPC channel. And for almost all of the time, no on-air announcement either (largely a good thing, because most 2FM DJs make me want to strangle them after about two such). So how the heck does one work what tracks are being played? Does the online player have live data on that? (So far it doesn't work for me at all, but I might be able to sort that with some browser tweaks, you never know.) Not on some webpage someplace, are they?

Let's stick to alaimacerc's question and not derail the thread.

Is it on TuneIn radio? I know sometimes they tell you the name of the track which is really handy. Otherwise Shazam would be an option.

Sorry, was sure I'd replied to this earlier -- didn't mean to slow-roll. It is! And it even plays on my Chromebook (unlike RTE's own player). Doesn't seem to come up with the track name any time I've tried it, though. In theory there's audio capture, though...

Don't have a device Shazam runs on, will investigate if there's an alternative for PCs or for ancient Blackberries.
