    Hey All,
I'm a Transition Year Student, and was wondering if you could suggest anywhere in dublin that does Mechanical engineering that i could possibly contact regarding Work Experience.

    Thanks a lot,
    _Kar.

(this isn't an application, but have tried many things and not found any firms. just some names of companies would be great)

i would try universities as companies wouldn't be too keen to take on transition years students in the current economic climate. UL for instance has the stokes institute and would be more than willing to encourage students to do Mechanical engineering (well bio or aeronautical engineering). I presume DIT would have something similar.

Also in UL they ran a 3 week mock electrical engineering course during the summer for secondary school students to convince them to do electrical eng, so might be something similar in Dublin, students get paid to do these course too so its well worth it. (i dont mean to be advertising ul but i go to college there so i know more about it)

At your level (School) you would probably just be better looking up some local companies on Golden pages or something.

I did my transition year work exp in a local Precision Eng place. Did fcuk all work and got a 'token' gesture of a few pound at the end. (yes it was that long ago it was in pounds!!)
