When organising a Christmas Santa for the office and the staff there, you know, swapping presents, etc what sort of limit money-wise is the norm?
5/10 Euro? Is there a minumum and maximum for most places?

(Appologies if this is posted in the wrong section)

There is a 'Gadget' shop in the Blanchardstown shopping centre, just beside Dunnes. Not as big as the one in the Jervis now but there is still some nifty bits and pieces there.

We're doing a 10e limit in our place.

    Thanks for replies so far.

I think most people would like someting of a surprise, even it it is small and low cost.
The shops providing gadgets such as Naos kindly mentioned, helps solve that problem for me.

Our family does this every year - we each get one extra present from someone (I started it about 7 years ago, after getting the idea from an episode of Friends! :))

Our limit is 15 Euro, but I don't know if anyone actually sticks to it. If it goes 20 or even 25 that's generally ok. The person you give the gift to won't know how much it costs anyway, unless you forget to take the price tag off! (That's happened before. :o)

A new 20 euro note is a generous and thoughful gift.

    Or 40 fags.

    Or a skin flick.

    LOL, very good.
    - theres an idea! A Mary Harney hair do on the cheap!

...on second thoughts, maybe that would be cruel to the person getting it!
Imagine been made to look like Harney! **shudders**

With my group of friends we set a limit of 10-15 euro. If you're looking for quirky gadget stuff then Urban Outfitters in Temple Bar and Dundrum does cool off-the-wall stuff.

oh, getting some good ideas of this now. I have to buy something for a guy so it is harder to think of something. I think it is anonymous though so that's not too bad. Must make a trip to the gadget shop. Could buy a few unusual presents there while im at it.

I must say I prefer Christmas Santa to the other less well-advertised Santas such as:
Accension Thursday Santa, Black Friday Santa, Blue Monday Santa and Ecquinox Santa.

Frankly they're all a bit creepy and smell of musk. (Plus Blue Monday Santa is always off his face on pills)
