For a few months now I've been really interested in getting hold of one of these. I was wondering if anyone here has one, and could share their experience of learning/playing it. Is it hard to master?

One of the guys from A Futurist Theatre uses one... that's all I know really. I'd say it would be a fairly difficult instrument to master, unless you're using it for noise like he does.

quite difficult to play ive heard. as well as mastering what your two hands are doing your body has to remain pretty still if you want to accurately maintain pitch and tone.

check out pamelia kurstin, really great music
