Sat4Free HD receivers & installation - €299 in Tescos

A few posts here and in bargain alerts have mentioned the 25% off on AV equipment in Tesco currently. Went into the local store this morning, and the Sat4Free HD boxes (with 'free installation') have been reduced from €399 to €299. However, the SD boxes still have a price of €299 on them.

Obviously, those with more of a DIY bent would probably be better off getting a Freesat box from the UK, but for the ordinary Joe Soap, it's not a bad price when you take the average cost of installation into account.

I wonder if it gets the Irish and French free to air channels (?)

There are no Irish FTA Satellite channels.

Yes, it can do French channels, but not at same time as UK, different Satellite (8W?)

I'd not buy it for French exclusively, but really it's best for FTA & Freesat on 28.2E, the UK Tv channels.

it's a bit late now - since the 25% was up to and including Sunday - but I was also in Tesco - and the 25% was also off the SD installation as well as HD.
