    Modem Model: E160 G
    Message: Connection Terminated.
    Software: Mobile Partner

I recently purchased the Medion Akoya P6612 laptop from Aldi. I have to say it is the best Laptop ever for the money. I had one problem though. I got myself a 3 mobile broadband package a few days ago but had trouble connecting to the internet on this laptop. After a hell of alot of research and listening to absolute S**T from 3's so-called "Customer Care" I finally came to the problem.

This is for anyone who has problems with using the mobile broadband services, whether it be o2, vodafone or 3.

    This is for Windows VISTA!

    Instructions:

    Go to START

Type in SERVICES in the search box

Scroll down to Remote Auto Connection Manager
...Check Status -- (should be Started)
...If not started -- double click it and in Generals Tab click on START
(make sure Startup Type is MANUAL)
...If error occurs -- Go to DEPENDENCIES Tab
......This Tab tells you what needs to be Started to get this Service Started
......Just check that all these services are started by viewing them
.........If one doesn't work check its dependencies and make sure they are
    all Started
......If you find a problem with one of the services not starting after all its
Dependencies are started, search google for the solution.

My problem came down to Secure Socket Tunnelling Protocol was not Started.

The only solution for this service that Microsoft gives is to re-install Windows.
Its something to do with Service Pack 1 but I re-installed Service pack 1 also. This is actually common enough, not just on Medion Akoya.

I did this, and after doing this the mobile broadband modem connects fine.

But to save yourself hassle, make sure its not one of the other Services that is at fault because some of them have better solutions then just having to re-install Windows.

Hope this helps. I know it certainly pissed me off after just getting the laptop. But other then that, the laptop is perfect! Brilliant for gaming!!
