Hi, I hope this is the best place for my question.
I need to get photo's done urgently (tomorrow 30th nov) and the requirements are very specific.
    They need to be:
    2"x2"
    600x600 pixels
    24bit colour (?)

Can I do this myself using my digital camera? Would the photo booths produce a print that's 2"x2"?
It has to be these exact measurements.

If you can help that would be really great. I'm beginning to panic.

Yup, you can do it yourself.

You'll need to use some software to do the resizing - if you don't already have some, Gimp will do it for you (www.gimp.org) or someone mentioned Faststone Image resizer recently as well (http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDetail.htm).

If you go to print it out in a photo machine in a chemist (or wherever) it might print it on 5x7 paper or something and you'll have to trim it yourself.

If it's a passport photo for a visa or something, you might be as well off going in to a chemist's or somewhere they do passport photos, and they might be familiar with the specific requirements. Bear in mind if it is for a visa app, there's usually quite strict requirements for backgrounds as well.

If you're really stuck with the resizing, and already have the image, PM me now and I'll do it for you. I was going to head to bed soon though, so if you want me to wait up it's not a problem, just PM me asap :)

Probably something similar to that discussed over here

    My own contribution to that thread;
As a general note: crop at a 1:1 ratio i.e. square format and then simply resize your image. When finished cropping - your image should be more than the requested size (in the case above 600) or if less then the resize may distort the image. If more, then it should be fine.

Thoie's suggestion / offer should get you there. Post if Thoie doesn't get out of the bed on time  and you may get someone online at the time to help.

Good look with the Visa application (assuming that's what it is).

Thanks very much for the help gus.
I think I have it sorted. It was accepted anyways so hopefully the content is ok.

Yes it's for the USA green card. Last minute decision but hopefully I can get lucky!

    Thanks again
