Nearly broke me arm

I was pacing around the apartment trying to keep warm today and realized I'd been sitting on me arse all day so I decided I needed to do some push ups to get the blood flowing.

I attempted the old stand with the feet together, lean forward until you begin to fall, break your landing with your hands and proceed with the push ups type thing.

Unfortunately the floor was a bit slippier than I expected and so my hands just went from under me straight away.

I twisted my body to prevent my nose becoming embedded in my brain and I fell on my shoulder, with my arm ending up in a mangled way under the full weight of my body.

I spent the next 3 minutes rolling around the floor with unstoppable agonizing pain laugh. It's still bloody sore now.

Moral of the story: Don't attempt exercise.

why would you start push ups by potentially fracturing your wrists by falling to the ground? its not the exercise that's the problem, its you.

Well if you think you're Batman, head off down to Limerick and fight crime, god knows the authorities need as much help as they can down there!

Yeah, I do some every day.

And I have successfully done the ones starting from a standing position before.

Pfft, you do push ups the amatuer way. If you want a real workout you do the Handstand press ups, they're totally the way to go

Bwahahahahahaha....Impromptu Push-Ups, the thoughts of you doing that have me in kinks here.

"As Galwayguy22 sits on the couch, he shivers...It brings his attention to the fact he is a little chilly. He cannot put the heating on because we all know that there is no such thing as centralized heating in Galway. All of a sudden the idea of doing a little exercise floods his brain, but which exercise!!! He ponders a moment, then mused, then pondered some more...Push-ups, yes indeed push-ups will be most suited to this space. As he readys himself Galwayguy22 is about to assume the classic push-up position but half way into the position he jerks back and says with a little wry smile...'I can do better then this'...

    <Scene Missing>

Galwayguy22 sits back down on his arse and says, thats not how it happened in the movies...Ouchie."

I tried to do one of them just now, found it un-possible.

I got into the handstand position against a wall, well the "tripod" position, i.e. two hands and top of head supporting the weight of the body.

I just couldn't extend my arms to lift my body. I shall keep trying until I succeed.

You have to build up to a handstand one, look it up online.

Also, pity you didn't try falling into fist push ups the other night, that would have been thread worthy.

I used to be able to do that fall to the floor thing and stop myself with my arms. Id say I was fifteen at the time and about 10 stone. Im now 30 and heavier and wouldnt dream of it, My nose would be mashed against the floor.
