    Just a quick query.
Is there still a shop in the Curragh selling equipment. Looking for black gear (equipment belt, holster, mag pouch etc) but cant find it in any army surplus shop.
    Thanks

allegedly, he has a huge markup on his products.

Holsters for instance vary in price from €22 to €50, and are €30 if you buy in bulk.

In fairness that's the outdoors trade in general, I worked in it for some 5 years or so, part time on both sides of the border. For military some manufactures employ a captive market approach in that an identical blackboot to its civilian counterpart will cost a heck of a lot more. They'd cite smaller production runs, need for extra reinforcements and bar tacking etc but I'm a cynic.....................

Lads anything military spec is going to cost you, and a lot of that stuff he carried (or carries) down there is mil-spec.

And yes you might consider it sh*t, but people would be amazed at the amount of sh*t equipment we use which is classified Mil-Spec.

OP have you checked out US law enforcement websites for the gear you need?. Only down side there is imports from the USA is flagged by customs and its getting harder and harder to get stuff through.

I've ordered gear from an Israeli online company, but I'm not sure if you'll find the gear you need from there, but when I'm home later I'll look through the sites (they're in my favourites and not available to me at the moment).

Not sure if PROTAC is still there, but I have ordered stuff previously from www.icoa.ie, They're an Irish based online surplus store, resonable enough pricewise and shipping costs ain't gonna be too much as they're based here.

Would you consider posting the name of the company? It might be of interest.

Also, for the main supplier of equipment to the Israelis , check out

    www.danieltechnologies.ie

Unfortunately an ordinary punter buying a pouch or a vest can't just knock on the door of this crowd, They sell serious stuff to serious customers.
They're based here in Dublin not far from Finglas I believe.
